To the border guards and
border guard service veterans
Dear friends!
Protection of Homeland borders has always been and still is an honorable and responsible matter.
History is rich in glorious examples when combatants and commanders of border troops were first to manfully enter into a fight with enemy. They protected peace and calm of our citizens performing their military and civil duty at the expense of their life.
On this day we address especially cordial words to the veterans of border guard service who stood the hard test of military time with dignity. They are a decent example for future defenders of our Homeland and those who protect Ukrainian borders today.
I am convinced that border guards of independent Ukrainian state that are an exemplar of professionalism, honesty, high culture and self-devotion in protecting their native land will further multiply the glory of previous generations.
I sincerely wish you and your families peace, welfare, energy and further success in your responsible and honorable service in the name of Ukraine’s prosperity.
